Cookie Policy.

Last updated 9 September 2026

This policy explains what cookies we use on zellanalytics.com, what each one does, and how you stay in control of them.

Zell Analytics is a trading brand of StructureIt Ltd, registered in the United Kingdom under company number 5541919, of Wisteria Grange Barn, Pikes End, Pinner, Middlesex, HA5 2EX. StructureIt Ltd is the data controller and the party responsible for the cookies described here. How we handle personal data more broadly — and the rights you hold over it — is set out in the StructureIt Privacy & Legal notice, which this policy sits alongside.

Your current setting

You have not made a choice yet, so only strictly necessary cookies are in use.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. On your next visit the browser hands it back, which is how a site can recognise a returning visitor or remember a setting. The same idea covers a few related technologies — local storage, session storage and pixels — and where we say “cookies” in this policy we mean all of them.

Cookies set by this site are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by another company whose service we have embedded are third-party cookies, and those are the ones that can follow you between sites.

How we ask for your permission

When you first arrive we set nothing beyond what is strictly necessary. Optional cookies — functional, analytics and marketing — stay switched off until you turn them on, either by choosing “Accept all” or by selecting individual categories. Rejecting is always one click, in the same place, and costs you no functionality.

Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent, because the site cannot be provided without them. Every other category relies on your consent as its legal basis. If you are in South Africa this reflects our obligations under POPIA; if you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union, under the UK GDPR and PECR, or the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive.

We record your choice in a single cookie so we do not have to ask on every page. That record stands for 6 months, after which we will ask again. We will also ask again if we introduce a new category or a new provider, rather than quietly assuming your earlier answer still covers it.

What we use, category by category

This is the complete list. Anything we add in future appears here before it is switched on.

Strictly necessary

Always on

These cookies keep the site secure and remember the choices you make here. They are not used to track you and are never shared. Because the site would not function correctly without them, they do not require your consent.

Functional

Your choice

These cookies let the site remember things you have chosen — for example a saved view or a dismissed message. Turning them off will not break the site, but some conveniences will reset each time you visit.

No cookies in this category are in use at present. If that changes, they will be listed here before they are ever set.

Analytics

Your choice

These cookies tell us which pages are read, how visitors arrive and where they lose interest, so we can improve the site. We look at this in aggregate — it is not used to build a profile of you or to make decisions about you as an individual.

Marketing

Your choice

These cookies are set by advertising and campaign platforms so we can measure whether our marketing reaches the right people, and avoid showing you the same thing repeatedly. They can be used by those platforms to build a profile of your interests across sites.

No cookies in this category are in use at present. If that changes, they will be listed here before they are ever set.

Third parties and other services

We keep embedded third-party services to a minimum.

Google Analytics 4 measures how the site is used, and runs only if you allow analytics cookies. Until you do, the Google Analytics script is not loaded at all — we do not load it in a disabled state, so no request reaches Google and nothing is queued for later. If you allow it, Google acts as our processor and the data may be handled outside South Africa and the United Kingdom, including in the United States, under the safeguards Google offers for such transfers. Withdrawing consent stops further collection immediately; the script cannot be recalled from a page already open, so the clean state resumes on your next page load.

Google Fonts supplies the typeface. It sets no cookies and is not part of the consent choice, because the site needs it to render; requesting the font file does, however, reveal your IP address to Google as it is served. If you would rather avoid that, most browsers and content blockers can block third-party font loading, and the site remains fully readable in a fallback typeface.

Sending us a message through the contact form is separate from cookies: the details you type are emailed to our team so we can reply. No cookie is needed for that, and submitting the form does not opt you in to anything else.

Your controls

The quickest route is the “Change cookie preferences” button above, or the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer of every page. You can turn any optional category off again at any point, and withdrawing permission is as easy as granting it.

Your browser gives you further control. Every major browser can block or delete cookies — look under Settings for Privacy, Cookies, or Site data. Bear in mind that clearing cookies also clears our record of your choice, so we will ask you again on your next visit. If your browser or an extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a standing instruction to keep optional cookies off, and we will not show you the banner.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies through your browser is possible, but parts of the site may then behave unpredictably.

How this fits with the StructureIt notices

StructureIt Ltd publishes its own set of notices covering the group and the structureit.net website. This policy is the one that governs cookies on zellanalytics.com — where the two differ, this page applies to this site. The group notices are the place to look for everything wider than cookies:

  • Privacy & Legal — what personal data StructureIt collects, how it is stored and used, and your rights over it, including access, correction, erasure and withdrawal of consent.
  • PAIA manual — how to request access to records under South Africa’s Promotion of Access to Information Act, including the forms, fees and the route to the Information Regulator.
  • Accessibility statement — the group’s commitment to WCAG 2.1 level AA, and how to tell us when we fall short of it.

Changes to this policy

As the site grows we will add to the tables above and update the date at the top. Where a change means we would be using your information in a materially different way, we will ask for your permission again rather than relying on a quiet update.
